A celebration

Last weekend the team launch featured a 'Concours' of the bikes to be ridden in the Eroica, along with other bikes that might be available as alternates . Since the cycles we are using are in some cases nearly a half-century old it is a wise idea to have other period-correct spares in the quiver. With nine riders going to the event the preparations have been quite monumental-as stated earlier, there is so much at stake in an event such as the Eroica California. To fail in such a casual coastal atmosphere would be truly unacceptable and definitely not period correct.
The last stages of preparation are taking place this weekend- the application of the headbadges, the team ride and photo shoot, the requisite alcohol and tobacco intake and the heroic trek over the San Benito mountains dressed in our heroic kits. This will be the clam before the storm- the time when we find out what we and our vintage must-see bikes are really made of.
