The riders pt. 2

Alex Goldworkstein was born in Switzerland. He arrived in the USA in a hand carved wooden box along with a priceless collection of Hummel figures. He survived the long journey by eating only chocolate and drinking many cases of pilsner. His job on the team is to promote drinking of large amounts of beer. His motto: " Bikes should be old but the beer should be fresh.". Not many on the team can keep up with his riding pace or his drinking volume.Oddly enough, he is the alternate team van driver.
Stepme Mopedlyvich Comes from a long line of small engine mechanics. His work on the Smiley moped in the late '70's was second to none-actually being able to get the engines to run for one solid minute at a time. His escape from working on the smelly and noisy two-stroke engines has always been the bicycle. His ability to comb the world for period correct frames and parts has made him highly  desirable to other Eroica teams-most notably ,he refused a very generous offer from team Craigslist - instead choosing to ride with Cycles Heroic. His job is to assess the quality of vintage gear on the ride and find clever and colorful ways to take down the posers who attempt to pass off substandard componentage .
Sizzlelean Rezendez Monte Cristo is a bit of a recluse, still living in the treehouse she was born in. In spite of here reclusiveness, she might very well have the largest fan-base of anyone on team Cycles Heroic. Although a dedicated tree-dweller, she does many miles on the cycle- competing in vintage casual coastal ( and inland ) events on several continents. One of her notable achievements was to introduce the country of China to both planing and the absence of chrome, for which the period correct populace will be forever grateful. Her job on the team is to seek out and asses the quality of Chardonnay en route. One casual observer supposedly heard her say: " If it isn't Ferrari-Carano, it is most likely guano." She sets the buttery-oaky bar very high and few wines make the cut. This is not only what she demands, it is what we as a team insist upon- this is after all  a very serious undertaking and stainless-steel fermented pretenders are not invited along.

Dustin Bermschotte was a late addition to the team. Unfortunately, the sepia had run out before this could be added to the story. Dustin will be taking photographs with period-correct Ectachrome film which he will painstakingly develop in his candle-lit darkroom. The method of photography that Dustin uses pre-dates the period when much of the team's bikes were constructed.

  1. This Mopedlyvich is charlatan and fraud! I have seen him, with my own eyes, use inferior French pedals on fine heroic Italian bicycle. Only a fool would do such thing! I have heard from good source that he rides wheels with 28 spokes in Eroica. This ignoramus is 16 spokes short of a full wheel set!
